Slice of 365 – My 365 ‘Photo a Day’ Project
May 14, 2011
A few months into my first Seattle winter, I found myself needing some concrete reason to pick up my camera everyday and take pictures. In other words, I needed an excuse to get motivated again. The clouds and the grayness and the cold, damp days were sucking the creativity right out of me. I tweeted that I was in need of inspiration and was considering doing another 365 blog. (Yes, another! You can find my first go at it here.), and my darling friend Katie replied that she loved my last one and was also in need of some inspiration.
A few exchanges later and we were planning our 365 photo blog project – Slice of 365 – which we officially kicked off on January 1, 2011. With her a blogging and photography newbie and me as a lover of blogs and photography, we make spectacularly interesting pair (in my humble opinion!). We’re 133 days into the year, and 133 posts and pictures have been recorded. I felt this was as good a time as any to take a look back and some of my favorite shots of the year so far and encourage any of you who are in need of inspiration to try this for yourself! It sounds intimidating, I’m sure, but it’s easy as pie once you get into a rhythm. And it’s so so good for the creative spirit! Trust. (ps.About 99% of these were taken on my iPhone 4. Hot damn, is that a good camera or what?!)
Enjoy!
